East Rand Proprietary Mines (ERPM)
The OroTree team is currently advancing technical due diligence on significant long term large scale project opportunities in the East Witwatersrand. OrroPay recently concluded a transaction to acquire the East Rand Proprietary Mine (ERPM). The project contains 51 million ounces (Moz) of gold and has historically produced 43 Moz.
OroTree, with assistance from its Johannesburg based technical partners are over the course of 2019 completing rigorous exploration and mine planning to commence gold production from the near surface reefs largely unexploited by previous operators. The FreePay JV is funding these activities with gold produced to be committed to the FreePay payment platform
Compilation of historical mines development on the main reef 1896-1950. The OroTree team is building regional understanding of all the reef packages in the East Rand.
A number of early targets have been identified which are all shallow in the Witwatersrand Basin stratigraphic sequence. Exploration diamond drilling to test these hangingwall reefs is likely to commence the end of the first quarter, 2019. The exploration program will focus on resource definition within MR151.
A fly-through simulation of the ERPM mine, heading NW from PR243 licence into the historic ERPM mining area, MR151. The view passes underground to ~1,000m depth, presenting the respective target reefs situated in the hangingwall of the main reef, key historic vertical shafts, and conceptual decline access.
